In total, we have about 40 active members who are the actual singers. Due to special merits, we are also proud of our honorary members: Karl Grabner, Cäcilia and Erwin Hier, Josefa Kogler. We are also happy about our more than 110 supporting members.

History

The Vorau Choir was founded on December 23, 1894. The first chairman was Dr. Hans Mühlbauer. At the beginning, the association consisted of 9 male and 20 male singers.

The regular meetings and rehearsals took place in Paul Spitzbauer's (nowadays Rechbergerwirt). The club's first motto came from Dr. Hans Mühlbauer and Johann Pannocha:

"German singing at any time, heart gladdens for life".
